Anime North Full Report (May 22nd-24th)
Alright! I promised a report and here it is, yay!!! :3 I'll be going by day so that things don't get to confused, plus this way I can keep most of what went on in order. Yes, there was some drama, and it was stressful and I'm exhausted, but overall it was fun.
Friday:
On Friday morning we left Oshawa at roughly 10AM and got to the hotel around 11, way before the con opened. Luckily we beat the crowds, and were able to check in right away. The Renaissance hotel is gorgeous, and we definately want to go back there every year we stay. Most of the morning was spent chilling at the hotel, getting stuff into the rooms, and looking over the schedule. Now the walk from our hotel to the con itself is at least five minutes, so we went over, grabbed our badges and schedules (we had preregistered), and walked back to the hotel to look things over.
The drama started on this day, though now I'm not even sure when it started or why it did; all I know is that I was tired because of no sleep the night before+driving and was told someone was talking about me behind my back, which later I discovered this info was completely made up as I talked to the supposed someone and yeah. Went to a couple of panels, wandered around the dealers room, went swimming at the hotel, and chilled in bed for a while.
Saturday:
This day was... interesting, I suppose. When I woke up, my friend Tasha and I started getting ready (the others had migrated to the 'messy' room (ours was the quiet room) to do so, plus some people had gone to a couple of panels and such. I got into my Tera costume and everything, Tasha in her neko-zawa, and then later on when we were all ready we headed out with our other friend to the DoubleTree hotel for a panel. It was at this point, being around so many other people, that I ended up getting really, really self-conscious and had to leave to go back and change least I had a panick attack.
At this point I received a text from my friend Travis saying he was in the registration line-up and needed the money to get in (I'd been holding onto it till he could get there on Sat anyways), so, even in my self-conscious state, I headed over to the TCC to find him in line and give him his money. After searching the whole line at least four times and texting him multiple times with no response, I gave up and, pretty much about to freak out, headed back towards the hotel only to see him and a couple of the others heading for the tcc on the other side of the road. Needless to say, I was a bit miffed and continued to the hotel to change; I was limping at this point because my left boot had cut into my heal. I now have a lovely blister there to show for it, ugh. Anyways, upon getting there I headed inside and changed, and found Travis had left his cell in the other room with Jessy so it was no wonder he hadn't responded to any of my texts. Whatev.
So, got changed, me and Jess headed back to the con to meet up with Tia, Keisha and Karen and to go to the Vic Mignogna (god I hope I spelt that right) concert thingy cause Tia's a big fan. The concert was probably one of my faveorite parts of the con, simply because he'd made this really funny skit thing that we got to watch and it was hilarious and yeah. After this me and Travis went back to the hotel to check out some gaming and a couple of panels and I got picked up and spun around in the air by a free hugs guy and it just made my day I swear lol. We played Soul Calibur 3 for a while (I won the one time I played lmao) and then headed to Harvey's to meet with the others for dinner.
After Harveys a few of us went to a Dramacon panel in the hopes that Svetlana (the author) would be there, but it ended up being fan run so we left and wandered around the dealers room for a while. Later on, we went back to the hotel and everyone decided to go swimming. We bid farewell to Travis and headed down to the pool, Tasha and I going in the hot tub cause we were aching and wanted to relax. Yeah that didn't last long because everyone else came over to and somehow it turned into a big 'talk' about issues we had with each other. One person told me that apparently I'm 'to much of a leader' and that I try to 'direct people' to much.
Um, pardon? That's my personality; if I see someone going in the wrong direction I'll point it out, and it's not as though I try to take over like certain other people. But wtf? That's how I am. Needless to say I was in an iffy mood when we left, and went to our room to chill. Tasha came up and me and her talked and got shit out and we were fine, because we deal with emotions the same way; we either bottle it up and say nothing, or let it out when we're alone/by ourselves. Keisha came in at one point crying and saying they were having a huge cry fest in the other room and they wanted us to come over. Tasha and I looked at each other and went hell no because we don't like doing that. We don't like cryfests, we like dealing with it by ourselves. I managed to cheer Keisha up though and we told her to let the others know we weren't mad or anything we just, yknow, didn't want to have a cryfest on a weekend that was meant to be a relaxing, fun vacation, like wtf.
Tasha and I went to bed pretty early (for being at a con anyways) and Karen and Deanne came in to sleep at one point to since the others wanted to stay up later, but whatever. Tasha's my frigging rock man, I swear to god.
Anyways, here's the one picture of me in my costume, as well as one of Tasha in her Nekozawa costume minuse the cloak:

Sunday:
On Sunday, Tasha and I didn't give a shit when the others were leaving; we stayed in bed till 10am and liked it thanks. Yay sleep! Anyways, everyone had gotten their stuff together and me, Tasha, Deanne, and Kayla (a friend who had come up every day without actually staying, and who had shown up when we were getting ready to bring stuff down) got everything out of the rooms and packed it all into my Sunfire (just until later when my mom came to get us and we could pack properly), then went to check-out. The staff at the Ren was really nice, it was a great stay ♥ After that, we headed over to Tim Hortons to get some food because neither me nor Tasha had eaten anything yet and were starving.
We saw Trisha and Karen there, but split up again afterwards because they were going to an autograph signing and we were headed for the dealers room/artists alley. I got a bunch of great stuff, picked up some cat ears for one friend and a dagger for another. Unfortunately, I was unable to find things for a couple of my other friends (sorry Misa and Caitlin I looked! ;o; ) and around 2pm we found out about a Svetlana signing area so we went to that and two of my friends got their books signed (unfortunately I'd packed my book and couldn't get it signed ;-; ) After that we wandered around a bit more before heading over to the doubletree again for some panels on making boots and accesories and then sewing for cosplay in general, which were really informative!
As for souveneirs, regarding anime I got the complete first season of Code Geass and the complete collections of Pretear and Princess Tutu:

I also got three awesome prints, one of Cloud holding Zack up in his final moments (Crisis Core), one of Zack, Cloud and Sephiroth (Crisis Core as well), and one of Van and Hitomi from the movie version (Escaflowne) I also got a bookmark of chibi Cloud and Sephiroth which is adorable:

I also got a necklace that I think is from Loveless (I don't care it's a butterfly and it's pretty ;; ):

I also got a ton of pocky and other japanese candies, as c'mon, it's not a con without pocky:

One of my fave souverneris tho is my Modoki hat, which I've wanted since the first year I went to AN. I finally bought the dumb thing, and my new goal is to cover the ears in little buttons of characters! ♥(I currently have three: Zack Fair, Cloud Strife, and Chihiro&No-Face):

Also, has some videos from Friday:
Post-Anime North:
In all honesty, as much as I had fun this weekend, I'm looking forward to next year more. Why? For one thing, the group will be a bit different; Jeff'll be coming, and a certain MISA may be coming as well ♥ Also, we'll have a better idea of what to expect next year. But the main thing?
I'm cosplaying Amaria next year, both her human and faerie forms, and I plan on making her human form myself! Not only that, but Jeff has promised to come as Raisk, the main guy from Faeriestone, and Tasha wants to come as Mima, a succubus from the story who plays a big part. Jessica has also said she'd be willing to go as a character from it! So we'll actually have a matching group of sorts, yay!
And now I'm done, hope you enjoyed the report! :3
